# Station computers

What Uhura and Troi are used for, based on September 2026 notes.

| Computer | Rack label | Expected use |
| ------------- | ------------ | ------------------ |
| Uhura — upper | PC1-RF | Control the radios |
| Troi — lower | PC2-Pointing | Aim the antennas |

These names and labels come from photos and rack drawings. Check each computer’s operating system, programs, and cable connections at the station before relying on this table.

## Trying Linux

Keep the working Windows drive and its settings before trying Linux. SDR Console needs Windows. Wine can run some Windows programs on Linux, but opening Orbitron that way does not prove it can still control the rotator through SpidAlfa.

Fill in the table below before choosing a computer for Linux.
