# Rotator calibration

Check that the controller shows the direction the antennas are pointing.

**Needs checking before use.** There is no recorded test date. The station lead needs to check that the attached reset and movement-limit instructions match the installed BIG-RAS rotator and ROT2Prog controller version.

Calibration makes the direction shown on the controller match where the antennas point. If they do not match, stop tracking and ask the station lead to check. You do not need to calibrate before every session.

* Get permission to access the roof. Keep one person in the lab and one on the roof, able to talk to each other throughout the work.
* Write down the controller settings and check the [manufacturer instructions](/projects/ground-stations/physics-ground-station/hardware.md).
* After testing, write down the steps that worked and the test date.
